Data Licence

Summary. Exports, compare results and API responses are licensed to you — not sold. Use them inside your own business as much as you like; do not publish, resell, share outside your organisation, or rebuild a database from them; treat any contact details as personal data. Every file carries a reference tied to your account.

1. Grant

Subject to the Terms and your plan limits, the operator of Affiliate Registry grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download, store and use the data you obtain through exports, compare and the API (“Licensed Data”) for the internal business purposes of you or, on a Business plan, the single legal entity you act for: evaluating programmes, planning campaigns, internal reporting, contacting programmes about affiliation.

2. Restrictions

3. Contact details and personal data

On the Business plan, some Licensed Data contains business contact details of individuals (affiliate managers, personal mailboxes, messenger handles); other plans receive only official programme mailboxes. Business subscribers receive personal contact data as an independent controller and by accepting this licence also accept the DPA. You must: use them only to contact the programme about affiliate matters; comply with the anti-spam and privacy law that applies to you and to the recipient (GDPR/UK GDPR and PECR, CAN-SPAM, CASL); honour opt-outs; not enrich, profile or resell them; delete them when no longer needed. Business customers may request our Data Processing Addendum.

4. No warranty; verification

Licensed Data is compiled from public sources and provided “as is”; figures may be wrong or outdated. You verify anything you rely on. Our liability is as limited in the Terms.

5. Term, termination, audit

The licence lasts while your plan is active; on termination you must stop using and delete Licensed Data except records you must keep by law. We may terminate for breach with immediate effect and, for serious breach, seek injunctive relief and damages; every export is logged with a per-account reference that identifies leaks. We may ask you to confirm compliance in writing.

6. Our rights

The Service and Licensed Data as a compilation are protected by copyright in the selection and arrangement, and by the sui generis database right in those jurisdictions where it subsists and applies to us; where it does, unauthorised extraction or re-utilisation of a substantial part is an infringement irrespective of whether individual facts are protected. Where it does not, the restrictions in section 2 apply as a matter of contract between us, which you accept by taking the Licensed Data. Programme names and marks remain their owners’.

7. Purchase conditions (what the checkbox at checkout covers)

By ticking the acknowledgement at checkout you confirm that:

8. Published aggregates are outside this licence

Statistics derived from the registry are published separately and openly: the category and specialism aggregates at /benchmarks and /stats, and the files at /data/affiliate-commission-benchmarks.csv and .json. Those aggregates are licensed to anyone under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, on the attribution that licence requires — naming Affiliate Program Registry and linking the source page. Sections 1 to 7 do not restrict them.

That grant covers only what those pages and files contain: counts, medians, percentiles and distributions computed across programmes. It does not extend to any programme record, name, rate, contact detail or other field of the registry, and it does not permit reconstructing the registry, or a substantial part of it, from repeated or combined aggregate requests.

9. Acceptance

You accept this licence by confirming it before your first export or API key, and by each download; we may record the version, time and hashed IP of acceptance. Version 2026-09-01. Governing law and venue as in the Terms.

These documents are written in good faith for a small data business and reviewed against the rules that apply in the EU/UK and the US. They are not legal advice; where mandatory law in your country grants you more rights than stated here, those rights apply.
